Building Our Team

This past September, my husband and I celebrated the birth of our first child. While I was on maternity leave, Junia and the team were able to finalize eruka’s board of trustees.

Obviously, having a baby is not the same as onboarding new team members, but the excitement and joy of growing one’s family is similar. We’re not dealing with diapers and midnight feedings at eruka, but we are excited to bring in fresh minds and talent to work towards our shared goals.

As a nonprofit organization, we are required by law to have a group of trustees that ensure the organization is working for the good of the public and meeting its legal and ethical obligations. But we wanted more than the bare minimum overseers. We wanted a team of passionate people with diverse professions, skills, and life experiences who would encourage and empower eruka’s staff to accomplish our bold vision of creating a just economy.

After spending 18 months recruiting diverse, talented, and committed trustees, we couldn’t be more excited with our excellent team.

Our Family is Still Growing

The board is set, but we are still working on building our team. We need people willing to help us make the dream of a just economy a reality. Currently, we are recruiting for two directors to guide our future growth:

Director of Advancement-a forward-facing position focused on relationship building with partners and funders. We’re hoping to find someone committed to justice who is able to connect with diverse groups of people and tell compelling stories.

Director of Technology-a management and engineering position overseeing the development of our mobile applications and software. We’re looking for someone who is interested in using their strong technical skills for social good.
